How to Secure Prime Fishing Weeks on the Alaska Peninsula

For anglers who value timing, water conditions, and lightly pressured runs, the best fishing trips are rarely last-minute decisions. At Aleutian Adventures, prime weeks don’t stay open for long. Short seasons, limited guest capacity, and a high percentage of returning anglers mean the best dates are often spoken for well in advance. Understanding our booking process, planning ahead and being strategic greatly increases your chances of locking in your desired dates.

Know Our Booking Window

Returning guests receive first right of refusal on their week for the following season. These guests have 45 days post-trip to confirm their same week for the following year. After that 45-day window closes, any unclaimed space is offered first to those on our waitlist before being announced to others.

Because of the return guest rebooking window, availability typically opens all at once shortly after the conclusion of each fishing season. Our booking season is July-August for King Salmon, September-October for Silver salmon, and October-November for Steelhead.

Waiting until winter to plan usually means choosing from what dates remain so be sure to reach out to us as early as possible.

Start the Conversation Early–Join the Waitlist

If you’re serious about fishing with us, joining the waitlist early is the smartest move you can make. Guests who engage with us and get their name on the waitlist early receive availability updates and are notified about cancellation opportunities first.

Guests who stay in touch and respond quickly to availability notifications are often the ones who capture newly opened space.

Flexibility is one of the biggest advantages you can give yourself. A small shift in expectations can dramatically increase your chances of getting on the calendar.

Having 2–3 acceptable weeks instead of one fixed date
